Necessity is the mother of invention so is the Bunts’ Sangha RNS Vidyaniketan which had a humble beginning during the tenure of Shri.Keerthi Shesha Srinivas Alva. From the cradle marching towards the completion of twenty-five years is indeed a remarkable achievement. Thousands of students have been benefitted by this beneficiaries and accomplishment extended by the most valued donor couple Mr. and Mrs. Keerthi Shesha Harekala Thimmappa Bhandary.
The year 1991 was a milestone in the history of Vijayanagar as there was a birth of a school with a helping hand by Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Trust under the banner of Ramakrishna Vidyaniketan.
The trust sponsored one lakh rupees every month till 1999 for the upliftment of the school.Special thanks must go to Shri.K.P.Ramanna Shetty for his valuable support. The year 2002 was significant as the then honorable President of Bunts’ Sangha Dr.I.M.Jayaram Shetty had a dream project of opening a school for the welfare of the society. The foundation stone was laid by the then MLA of Binnypet constituency, Sri.V.Somanna while the former judge of the Supreme Court Justice Jagannath Shetty graced the occasion. The first lady President of Bunts’ Sangha Smt.Susheela P Shetty and the guest of honor of the day Dr.R.N.Shetty blessed the project by his esteemed presence. A feather on the cap was the construction of the two-storeyed building constituting 45 classrooms constructed within a time span of 90 days.
A blessing in disguise was the contribution of Dr.R.N.Shetty, who enriched the institution in a sophisticated way henceforth the school was renamed as R.N.S.Vidyaniketan. The work was completed and was fit for the opening on 25th June 2002. The school building was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri.S.M.Krishna while the former judge of the Supreme Court Justice Jagannath Shetty added charm to the inauguration. The brochure was released by the port and fishery minister Sri.Ramanath Rai. The school follows the state board as well as the high school. The school is equipped with a good infrastructure like Science Laboratory, Yoga Hall, Art Room, Library, Spacious Classrooms with interactive boards and the best faculty.
A committee came into force with Dr.I.M.Jayaram Shetty as the honorable President and Shri D.Chandrahas Rai as its Honorary Secretary for the betterment of the institution. The success of the school was not a bed of roses but was the continuous efforts put in by each and every person. The school has left no stone unturned with its achievements in academic and co-circular activities since its inception.
The school, BSRNS Vidyaniketan is sailing with around 650 plus students on board and has earned name and fame with the high quality of education being imparted to the students around its vicinity.
